first 2 weeks.....

Well hello,

It has been 2 weeks since Grayson has been home, and let me tell you, it has been very eventful and very tough.

I suffer from very intense baby blues. I had panic attacks and get so much more anxious than many people can imagine. I am on medicine now, but hopefully it will be gone pretty soon. Thank you all so much for the prayers, I needed them! During the 1 1/2 weeks of intense stress, anxiousness, lack of appetite and sleep (literally none), I had to stop breast feeding as well. I feel guilty for not being able to give Grayson the best, but my milk was slowly disappearing and he wasn't getting but maybe an ounce to once and half. He eats 3.5 ounces now.

So because of the no breast milk, now comes other complications. Grayson is on lactose sensitive formula because of acid reflux and constipation. And I mean bad constipation, his poo was harder than an adults and could not poop at all. So hopefully, this sensitive (the second kind we are trying) will help, but he seems to be more comfortable.

Other than these, yes they are big but getting much better, things are going well! I have had so much help from family and especially my husband. Jason has been amazing at taking care of me and the kids and I cannot tell you how much my respect for him has grown in the last couple weeks. He really is my match and is perfect for me. My mom and grandma have been a great help as well, thank you! I thank God so much that I have so much family that surrounds Jason, me and our kids!

Nevaeh is the overprotective sister and absolutely loves her little brother. She wants to see him sleep and laughs at all his little noises. Last night we went to Grayson's first basketball game and others held him, Nevaeh goes to say, "thats my little brother."

Grayson is absolutely adorable and smiles all the time, but he's really gassy, so that could be why he smiles A LOT! Either way, it's still cute. He smiles when I play with his cheeks and he's so ticklish already. I love ticklish kids! I think he looks like Jason, but he has blonde hair and very light eyebrows and lashes. Jason was hoping for dark hair, sorry honey for my dominant genes :) . He has grown to over 8 pounds now and loves to eat. He eats 3.5 ounces and is probably going to be at 4 in no time! wow!

Here are some pics of the last couple weeks.... enjoy! Oh and correction from last blog, he was 19 1/4 inches long, not 19 3/4 inches. 2 inches shorter than Nevaeh... interesting.

Just arrived home from the hospital.

The next couple pics are his 3 day pics. We took nevaeh to target, but can't afford it right now, so I just took a couple.

Happy birthday Grayson James Karaidos!

January 13, 2011 at 11:12 am, after only 2 hours of labor and 6 minutes of pushing, our family of 3 turned into the 4 of us! Grayson James entered this world at 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 19 3/4 inches and screeching, not screaming, screeching.

We went in Thursday morning for an induction and all went very well! I am feeling really good, no stitches and little swelling and Grayson is doing very well. No jaundice, pooping and peeing normal, and eating wonderfully.

I was excited for the hospital stay because it meant me being able to sit and let people serve me. I know it sounds selfish, but as a stay-home mom and just having spent 1 month with a melon pushing my hips out of joint (well, kinda, the pain brought me to my knees sometimes) sitting for 2 days was wonderful!

But I am glad to be home. Nevaeh loves him so much already. At the hospital, she sat next to him to watch cartoons and just put her hand on his back and sat like that. I tried getting a picture, but I am on the slow side these days. Also, when the nurse came it to check him out, Nevaeh cried when she took him off the bed, saying, "my baby brother." So wonderful to hear this from her! She was worried that we  were going to leave him at the hospital too. So, as of right now, things are going well with her. She doesn't freak when I'm feeding or holding him, and she wants to help all the time. I know, though, that things can change and she could be jealous in an instant.

Here are a few pictures, more will come!

His first five minutes in this world!

Wish nevaeh was in this picture.

my baby boy!

Nevaeh helped daddy do the dishes, she loves putting the silverware away.

Ok, so if you have read this blog before, you know she like Diego. This is her, in her words, "skate boarding like Diego." my hat is her (in her words), "helmet, so she can be safe", and the flat pillow is her skate board. She is wonderful and I sure did miss her in the hospital!
